7-27-15 Mon. Myself and Scott flat head fishing, 7PM – 1130PM
Mississippi R. pool 7, 5.43↓, 31kcfs, 78°, clear// 77°, SE 8, clear
Caught: No flats, 1 soft shell turtle//Bait: bluegill
It was a Monday after work flat head fishing trip with Scott. I had high expectations on account of having done well just a few nights ago. Those expectations were quickly doused from lack of action. Scott did have one bite and I did catch one rather large soft shell turtle.
Those turtles must have quite a tough hide. The hook was buried in the turtle’s neck and even with my forceful and persistent trying I was unable to remove the hook. Now, there is one soft shell turtle out there with a piercing in its neck. Heck, maybe it’ll be the new rage with the soft shells.
