It was a short excursion behind the house tonight. I was curious to see if the fishing was any better, the same or if it had gotten worse. I would have to say it was ok. The size structure of the fish has gotten smaller. I think this is probably because the pressure has increased.
Observations:
Behind the house is now becoming a popular spot to fish, as it usually is early in the spring. Shady areas and north sides of hill still have snow and there is still some ice around. In fact, the ariport bay is a pretty popular spot judging by all the anglers I have been seeing on the ice. An older gentleman I talked to said another angler had just left and that the angler had quite a good catch of perch using worms.
