Scott and Adam had come up to the cabin for the weekend to do some musky fishing while I bear hunted. Their first full day (Friday) was spent up on the St Louis River chasing ghosts. Form what I gathered it was long day, with very little activity and only one follow.
Since I was having no luck baiting bears and I had pulled all my baits, I was invited to go with them on Saturday morning. I did not have any tackle so I begged and mooched all the gear I could from the both of them.
The day was a perfect musky day weather wise; it was quite broken with sun, showers and sometimes a fairly stiff breeze and temps in the lower 60’s. We fished my little un- known lake for about four hours and we all struck pay dirt. Adam took the top fish prize with a beautiful forty inch musky.
All the fish came on either buck tails or spinner baits. We did not really have any follow so to speak; most of them hit the bait, although not with a lot of gusto.

Observations:

The lake level seemed somewhat normal, and fairly clear. I did notice that there was absolutely no submergent vegetation. Scott had informed me that the St Louis had no weeds what so ever.
