Comments:

Tonight I was doing some exploring on the waters between the Dresbach Dam and La Crosse. I had to catch bait to begin with and the first spot I only caught one bluegill and that made me nervous. Then, I went into the West bay and caught all I wanted. The size of the bluegills was not huge, but they were perfect bait size.
Before setting up to fish I did some pre-scouting in the daylight. I was pretty excited about the spots I found; I definitely thought they had potential. The first spot was next to two little islands just off a main channel. I basically had three different current seems at my fingertips, and I was certain it would be a good spot. It did end up being good, but for channel cats only. The next spot had the classic cover you look for in early summer; there was a very nice log jam that was holding lots of debris. I only gave this spot about fifteen minutes and pulled one medium channel cat off of it.

Observations:

The iris plants in the back yard are blooming.
