Comments:

Frustrating, that is how I would describe my flat head fishing luck the past several excursions. I have not caught a flat head the last couple of outings so tonight I wanted to head to a spot where I was sure I could catch a flat head or two and maybe even a bonus catfish. Guess what? It did not happen. We had a couple of weak runs and I actually had a fish on for a brief time, but it got off.
We tried both the Trempealeau River and the Mississippi River. We actually had the most action in the Mississippi, where we fished current break.

Observations:

The Mississippi River is high and quite muddy, but the Trempealeau is in pretty good shape. The water is quite high, but we were still able to find some pretty nice bluegills spawning in a bay not too far from the landing.
