Today we fished south of the Genoa Dam. We were hoping to get out of the current and onto some fish. We were able to get out of the current but we did not connect with any walleyes.
It was not a good day for catching fish, but is was a beautiful day for fishing. Geese and ducks filled the skies . We were also treated to a large concentration of eagles (approximately 100) loafing on the ice in a bay off Minnesota Slough.
DeSoto Bay was still heavily iced over. Speaking of ice, I do believe I saw my last ice fisherman of the season tonight on Lake Onalaska along fisherman's road. Ice is still prevalent in sheltered areas, but where there is current or large open areas it has retreated for another season.
