I have been playing the part of a frustrated mechanic on the go devil last night and tonight and I finally got it fixed tonight. So, I was ready to fish! It was late by the time I got finished with the go devil surgery, so in order to get any amount of time on the water it would have to be for flat heads.
Bait catching went down to the line, but I had enough. The first spot I fished was just to the west of Floyd’s Slough. This spot is usually very good early in the season, but I have yet to catch a fish here as the summer moves into July and beyond. After being bite less for forty-five minutes I moved downstream a quarter mile to an inside scour hole on a wing dam. I also struck out here.

Observations

Not as many fish tonight in Cole’s Corner bay. The rice is coming up fairly thick in front of the house and some of it is starting to tassel.
