Bluegills were harder to get tonight; I think the loving is over. Tonight I had Jake fishing with me. He is a young co-worker with very little fishing experience. In fact, the first time I took him along I thought it was take a kid fishing day.
We missed several fish before Jake finally connected with a 17 pounder. Mosquitoes are still numerous, and when a light is turned on many types of marauding night insects swarm to the source.
The water stage of Bullet Chute is about as low as it can go and still allow me to navigate its sandy bars. Flashes of lightning in the warm sticky night sky chased us home early tonight.
